Wisdom

Wisdom of Solomon
6:12-13
12 Wisdom is glorious, and fadeth away: yea she is easily seen of them that love her, and found of such as seek her,
13 she preventeth them that desire her, in making her first known to them.
14 Whoso seeketh her early shall have no great travail: for he shall find her sitting at his door.

How important is wisdom in your life?

Without wisdom we are as a leaf blowing aimlessly in the wind.

In the bible wisdom is described as a woman,

Proverbs 9:1-6
1 Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:
2 she hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table.
3 She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city,
4 Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
5 Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled.
6 Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.

So as the above scripture dictates “ wisdom “ is a necessary addition to have in our life, but she will only reside in those who want an understanding, she will only dwell in those who seek her, whose heart is pure.
King Solomon craved her above all else:

2 Chronicles 1:9-12
9 Now, O Lord God, let thy promise unto David my father be established: for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.
10 Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?
11 And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:
12 wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.

Did you know there are two types of wisdom?

James 3:13-16 says:
13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. 15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

This is the earthly form of wisdom, but there is a pure form of wisdom that can only come from acknowledging Yah in your life, the bible says in Proverbs 9:10
(one of my favorite books in the bible, you can gain so much knowledge and understanding about life in Proverbs.
I encourage you to read it, any answer to life situations is there).

Proverbs 9:10
10 The fear of the The Most High is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

You may have wisdom bestowed upon you, but how you apply it to your life will determine the benefits of her knowledge, there are consequences to not using her wisely:

Proverbs 9:8-9
8 Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.
9 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.

For example, there are some people who will receive sound advice, that would give them the opportunity to make a decision that is the correct decision for a particular detrimental situation and will refuse to make the best choice for the situation which may lead to dire consequences, they may even get angry at the person for the advice, that is the example of a scorner who rebukes instruction.
On the other hand you may have a wise person who is given advice and receives it happily and the consequences of that choice gives him the opportunity to benefit from his decision, therefore increasing his knowledge from making it. (experience)

Sometimes a wise decision can and will save your life in certain situations, therefore the consequences of a decision you make in your life good or bad will affect the outcome of your life. The choices may lead to minor or major changes depending on the severity.

Proverbs 9:11-12
11 For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.
12 If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.

So wisdom is very important in life especially when it is given from above and we must live our lives praying for the wisdom that Yah can give. Will mistakes be made? Of course, it is how we learn, but with Yah guiding our paths, it will probably be a lesson that will only increase our knowledge for the better.

It is called experience and it is the best teacher.

James 3:17-18 says:
17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

Proverbs 4:11-13
11 I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.
12 When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.
13 Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.
